WILMINGTON — The wait is finally over. After back-to-back Colonial Athletic Association regular season championships and a trip to last year’s NCAA Tournament, the UNCW basketball team hit the floor for their first official practice inside Trask Coliseum on Friday.
ESPN analyst Seth Greenberg recently stopped by campus for the inaugural tip-off dinner to help build excitement and raise money for the rising program. He told boosters, supporters, players and staff, “you’ve got something special going on here”, referencing the teams recent rise to the top under now third-year Head Coach Kevin Keatts.
Keatts was available for interview prior to Friday’s workout. Watch his conversation below.
The Seahawks are gearing up for an exhibition contest on Nov. 6 vs. Mount Olive before opening the regular season with Claflin on Friday, Nov. 11, at Trask Coliseum.
