North Brunswick (0-0, 3-2) at Ashley (0-1, 2-2)
Ashley and North Brunswick will meet in the final non-conference game between the two programs before the Scorpions enter the division moving into the 2017 season.
The Screaming Eagles gave a gritty defensive effort in the 28-6 setback to West Brunswick last week, but Ashley’s offense struggled to sustain drives. As a result, the defense was on the field for a majority of the ball game and ran out of gas during the second half.
Caleb Parker helped relieve some of the injury woes Ashley’s been facing in his return against the Trojans. Parker will play an important role in getting the Screaming Eagles back in the win column along with Corey Whaley, Freddie Thames and quarterback Jacob Reed.
North Brunswick grabbed a bounce back win last Friday. The Scorpions bring a ton of athleticism to the field. Jc Smith, Jayhlen Washington and Jathan Deberry all have big play ability, which should give football fans an interesting match up to look for when North Brunswick travels across the Cape Fear River into Wilmington on Friday.
