Two women arrested for Friday’s armed robbery, murder of Wilmington man

WILMINGTON — Two females, including one gang member, are in custody in connection with the murder of a Wilmington man in the 200 block of North 13th Street.

Wilmington Police Department spokeswoman Cathryn Lindsay said validated gang member Cerrica Jackson, 20, and Kalissa Durant, 24, have been charged with first degree murder, armed robbery and conspiracy to commit armed robbery in connection with the shooting of 34-year-old Antwyn Curtis Beatty of Wilmington.

A call to dispatch about shots fired in the area came in at about 7:55 p.m., Lindsay said. One male victim was found fatally wounded.  The shooting happened about a block away from a home on North 13th Street where a 45-year-old man was shot and killed on the front porch if his home Tuesday evening.
