Hall is scheduled to leave for the Lone Star State on Friday, with a chance to make the 20-man 18U USA National Team roster. That team will head to the COPABE Pan Am “AAA” Championships in Monterrey, Mexico,  Sept. 23-Oct. 2.

While in Houston, Hall will compete in workouts and games for nearly 10 hours per day, in addition to an off-the-field interview session as part of his evaluation process.

“I’m excited as ever,” said Hall. “I can’t wait to get there. Now its time for all the hard work to pay off.”

Those participating in trials will also play a game at Minute Maid Park, home of Major League Baseball’s Houston Astros.

The Tournament of Stars held in June was presented by Major League Baseball at the USA Baseball Complex in Cary. The event featured 108 players from across the country playing in 12 games and it involved two scouting days.

The players were divided into six teams for pool play games. Hall was of one of just four ball players from North Carolina to be selected for the 40-man workouts this upcoming week.

Hall, a Clemson University commit from Hampstead, is a three-year letter winner for the Pirates. He hit a team-high .370 this season and played a pivotal role in helping guide Topsail to its second 4A state title appearance in three years. Hall also had a team-high in runs (26), RBIs (20) and doubles (11).
