WILMINGTON — Police have arrested three 16-year-olds in connection with a drive-by shooting Sunday night.

Three suspects were reportedly involved in a drive-by shooting in the 600 block of South 9th Street at about 11:24 p.m. Sunday, Wilmington Police Department Spokeswoman Linda Rawley said. The 18-year-old male victim was walking down the street when he heard gunshots and ran from the area.

The victim was taken to New Hanover Regional Medical Center where he underwent surgery for a gunshot wound to his hand. Rawley said the shooting left several homes and cars damaged in the area.

Police located the suspects and arrested three 16-year-old males in the 2700 block of Princess Place Drive after a brief foot chase, Rawley said. Those arrested include Roderick Allen, Dangelo Durant Jr. and Isaiah Brown, each of Wilmington.

The three teens are facing multiple charges including assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, shooting into an occupied dwelling, possession of a handgun by a minor, speeding to elude arrest, and resisting arrest, Rawley said. They have each been booked at the New Hanover County Detention Facility under $500,000 secured bonds.
