WILMINGTON – A Wilmington man has been arrested in connection with a years -long child pornography investigation involving lewd photographs of multiple child victims.
Gary Randall Porter, 42, of Joey Court in Wilmington, has been charged with ten counts of third degree sexual exploitation of a minor and ten counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, according to jail records.
Porter was arrested on Thursday by New Hanover County Sheriff’s deputies after a lengthy investigation.
“The investigation of Porter began two years ago when detectives were made aware of Porter possessing pictures of child pornography,” said sheriff’s office spokesman Lt. Jerry Brewer in a statement.
According to an arrest warrant charging him with three counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, Porter was found to be in possession of computer files containing lewd pictures of minor females between the ages of 1 and 4 years old engaged in sexual acts, some of the acts involving an adult male.
The arrest was made by the sheriff’s office in partnership with the FBI and the N.C. State Bureau of Investigation. Porter is being held at the New Hanover County Detention Facility under a $150,000 secure bond.
