Linda Danille Carraway, 75, loved the outdoors

WILMINGTON – Linda Danille Carraway, age 75, of Newport, North Carolina, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, doing what she loved on Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2016, in Wilmington.

She was born Dec. 24, 1940, in New Hanover County, North Carolina, the daughter of the late James Odum and Hazel Padrick Odum. She is preceded in death by her devoted husband, Roy Carraway and son, Jimmy Camerota.

Linda was a true southern lady that enjoyed life to the fullest, was a spitfire when she needed to be and loved to spend time with her family. She enjoyed the great outdoors, camping, fishing, gardening or crabbing, it was all of interest and enjoyment to her. She was a devoted and loving mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend who will be truly missed by all.

Left to cherish her memory are her two sons, Tony Camerota and wife Kat and Blake Hewett; daughter, Cathy Penny and fiancé Michael Batson; grandchildren, Alan Millinor (Alex), Tiffianie Millinor and John Camerota; great-grandchildren, Alana Millinor and Anthony Anderson; sisters, Delores Judd, Margie Stone and Janet Hewett (Henry); canine companion, Buddy; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, 2016, at Prospect Cemetery on Military Cutoff Road, Wilmington, NC 28411.
