PENDER COUNTY – All Pender County Schools will open two hours later on Wednesday, Sept. 7, due to a water main break. The announcement was made at around 1 a.m. by the school district.

Initially, only certain schools were part of the delay, but the decision was later made to include all of the county’s schools.

Malpass Corner Elementary School, which had already been declared closed for the day due to a failed water pump, will remain closed for the entire day. The school had closed early on Tuesday due to the issue.
