Police seek information in shooting that injured man on North 30th Street

WILMINGTON – Detectives with the Wilmington Police Department are investigating a shooting that injured a 33-year-old man in the Creekwood public housing community Monday night.

The shooting happened in the 900 block of North 30th Street just before 11 p.m., according to Wilmington Police Department Spokeswoman Cathryn Lindsay. Officers responded to the area for a ShotSpotter alert and found the victim lying on the on the ground near a sidewalk. A vehicle and trashcan were also struck by bullets.

EMS transported the victim to New Hanover Regional Medical Center for treatment of a single gunshot wound. The victim was alert and conscious, Lindsay said, adding that his injury did not appear to be life-threatening.
