Mae Spivey High, 86, of Wilmington, N.C., passed away Sunday, July 31, 2016.

She was born Feb. 13, 1930, in Longwood, N.C., the daughter of Leonard Spivey and Shellie McLamb Spivey.

She was a member of Pine Valley United Methodist Church, earned a master’s degree in education and taught and was an assistant principal at Roland Grise Jr. High School.

She is survived by her son, Andy High; daughter-in-law, Grayson-Leigh ReVille High; grandchildren, Grayson Bryce High, Joseph Andrew High, Carter Leigh High, Bandon Strunk, Elaina Marie Keeter and Travis Anthony High; and niece, Jeanne Potter (Robert).

A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 4, 2016, at Pine Valley United Methodist Church, 3788 Shipyard Blvd., Wilmington, N.C. Interment will follow at Oleander Memorial Gardens, 306 Bradley Drive, Wilmington, N.C.
