13101_13184_fixedWILMINGTON – A Wilmington woman has won a $100,000 prize in this past Saturday’s Powerball drawing.

Louise Sauls beat the odds of 1 in 913,129 to win the $100,000 prize this weekend, according to a release from the North Carolina Education Lottery. She claimed her prize Monday at lottery headquarters in Raleigh.

Sauls bought the $3 Power Play ticket at the Gas Center on South College Road in Wilmington. The numbers matched four white balls and the Powerball to win $50,000. The prize doubled when the 2X multiplier was drawn for Power Play tickets.

After required state and federal tax withholdings, she received $69,280, the release states.

Ticket sales from games like Powerball raised more than $600 million dollars for the state last year, according to the release. For details on how more than $69.7 million in lottery funds was used in New Hanover County, click here.
