Manuel “Manny” Mato Jr., 74, of Bolivia, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 25, 2016 surrounded by his family.

Manny grew up in Brooklyn, New York and was a graduate of Rutgers University in New Jersey. His business career was all in the computer industry. He worked for New York Stock Exchange setting up a real-time stock ticker trading system. He then went to Telerate Systems and was vice president of operations. After early retirement, Manny was a consultant for the United States Agency for International Development. He set up stock exchanges in Moscow, Croatia and the Ukraine.

Manny was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Amelia Mato.

He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Mary Beth; daughters, Corinne and son-in-law, Ross Luck of Ashland, Virginia and Michelle and son-in-law, Robin Wescott of Monroe Township, New Jersey; a sister, Celia Calimano of Staten Island, New York; and many nieces and nephews. He was a proud and loving grandfather of five, Carleigh, Peyton, Davis, Blake and Reed.

A memorial service will take place at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 2, 2016 in Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church in Ashland, Virginia.

In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that donations be made in his name to the SECU Hospice House, 1414 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401.
