Stanley Steven Doherty, 65, of Wilmington, N.C., died July 22, 2016.

He was born Nov. 27, 1950, in Berlin, N.H., to the late Phillip and Rose Mary Doherty.

Stanley was a U.S. Army veteran, proud to have served his country. After serving, he became an electrician, eventually starting his own company.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Annette C. Doherty; daughter, Christine Tanhueco and her special friend, Dean Sasser, of Wilmington, N.C.; son, Joseph Doherty; two sisters, Andrea Hall and Louise Doherty, both of Wilmington, N.C.; two brothers, James Doherty of Wilmington, N.C., and Wayne Doherty (Peggy) of Portland, Ore.; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family would like to thank Dr. Mary Rudyk and nurse Susan Segur at Senior Health Associates, and nurse Brandy Basso with Liberty Hospice for all of their care and support.

There will be no memorial services at this time.
