Nancy Tuck Nichols, 83, died July 21, 2016, at home.
She was born May 10, 1933, in Pittsylvania County, Va.
Nancy lived a full life and was able to travel the world with her husband. She worked for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration with the original seven astronauts. She also worked at the Pentagon and as a civil servant for more than 30 years.
In her free time she enjoyed serving The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, dancing and bowling. Even after Alzheimer’s began affecting her memory, Nancy always remembered to show her family love and always remained positive. Her beautiful presence is deeply missed by everyone, but she is at peace with the Heavenly Father.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Lowell Nichols; her three children, Nancy Ann McInville, Robert Nichols and Susan Kronebusch; seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and multiple extended family members.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 25, 2016, at Peacock, Newnam & White Funeral Home, 1411 N. Howe St., Southport, N.C. The funeral service will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday, July 26, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on River Road in Southport, N.C.. Burial will be at Northwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Lower Cape Fear Hospice. They were right by Nancy’s side, along with her family, in her final days.
