Sillanpaa, a five-foot, seven-inch native of Tampere, Finland, owns a 19-15 singles record and 16-12 doubles mark through three seasons at UNCW. She has played the top three positions during her career with the Seahawks and led the team to the 2014 Colonial Athletic Association championship.

Sillanpaa was named CAA Rookie of the Year in 2014 and collected Second-Team All-CAA recognition in 2014 and 2015.

“We played quite good throughout the tournament and only lost one set in the final,” said Sillanpaa. “I’m very happy since it’s my first women’s national championship.”
