Deborah Covil Sasser, 54, a ‘people person’

Deborah Covil Sasser, 54, of Castle Hayne, daughter of Betty Covil, passed away July 13, 2016.

She was born Jan. 29, 1962, in Wilmington. She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Covil.

Debbie was a very outgoing people person, and she always had something going on. She loved to do crafts and loved the beach. Her sense of humor and cheerful spirit could put a smile on anyone’s face sure. Her No. 1 one love was family and love for The Lord. She will be greatly missed by many.

She is survived by her husband, Rex Sasser; two sons, Bryan Sasser and Chad Sasser; one sister, Tammy Winslow (Ronny) of Kernersville, N.C.; one brother, Dean Sasser of Wilmington; two nieces, Jordan Sasser and Aja Holguin, both of Wilmington, N.C.; and one nephew, Daniel Sasser of Wilmington.

She had a special love for “PA PA” Joe and Doris Holland of Wilmington. She also leaves behind some very special friends, Lori Flack, Scarlett Spencer, Teresa Atkinson, Whitney Skipper, and very a special Aunt and Uncle, Awilda and Leon Smith of Castle Hayne.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Monday, July 18, 2016, at Wrightsboro Baptist Church, Castle Hayne, with a memorial service following at 3 p.m., with Pastor Brad Harrison and Pastor Mike Lewis officiating.
