Leonard Egnor, 87, lovingly named “Paw Paw” by his family, died on July 6, 2016, at Dosher Hospital, Southport, N.C.

He was born on March 24, 1929, the son of Charlie and Gladys Bradley Egnor. He served as a U.S. Marine in Washington, D.C., where he met his beloved wife, Fay Homesley. Throughout his life Leonard quietly represented the values that have made our nation great. He stood for faithfulness, generosity, dependability and hard work.

Leonard is survived by his daughters, Sharon Eccles (Bill), Brenda Brooks (Blackie) and Becky Underwood (B0b); and grandchildren, Brad Eccles (Kim), Jennifer High (Bryan), Jake Eccles, Shelby Ellison (Jeff), Shannon Brooks and Amber Coe. He also will be missed by his great-grandchildren, Rosalind and Naomi Eccles, Harrison High, and Lydia and Amelia Ellison.

A funeral service will be at on Friday, July 8, 2016, at Ocean View Methodist Church, 8400 Oak Island Drive, Oak Island, N.C. A second service will be held Saturday, July 9, 2016, at Covenant Methodist Church, 801 W. Franklin Blvd., Gastonia, N,C., with visitation at 10 a.m. and a funeral at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Ocean View Methodist Church in Oak Island, N.C.
