William Daniel “Danny” Stubbs, 71, of Rocky Point, N.C. passed away at New Hanover Regional Medical Center on Sunday, July 3, 2016.
He was born in Wilmington, N.C., on Jan. 22, 1945, the son of the late Annie Lawson.
Mr. Stubbs graduated in 1963 from New Hanover High School in Wilmington, N.C. He retired from HMF Manufacturing after 15 years of service; before that he worked for 20 years at Timmie Corp. He was a sports fan who loved the North Carolina Tar Heels and Washington Redskins. He was a member of Riley’s Creek Baptist Church in Rocky Point, N.C. He loved his family, his church family and his three dogs (Little Bit, Angel and Rocky), but above all, God.
Mr. Stubbs is survived by his wife of 38 years, Janice Johnson Stubbs; his children, Stacy Hobbs, of Florida, and Max Harrison, of Georgia; three grandsons; two great-granddaughters; a brother, Charles Crews, and a sister, Betty Crews.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, July 7, 2016, at Andrews Mortuary, 1617 Market St., Wilmington, N.C. Graveside services will follow at noon at Oleander Memorial Gardens, with the Rev. Jim Herchenhahn officiating. Interment will follow. Pallbearers will be Chris Blake, Jeff Blake, James McNeill, Jeff Ingram, Jerry Johnson and Jerry Johnson Jr.
