Nola Miller Fields, 63, of Southport, passed away Thursday, June 23, 2016, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington.
Mrs. Fields was born November 2, 1952, in Lynch, Ky., daughter of the late Charlie Anderson and Rose Stidham Miller. She enjoyed working as a 911 dispatcher for Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office for many years. Her love of family was shown as she went traveling by R.V. with her husband, cooking for big family events and shopping for her grandchildren. Mrs. Fields also had a passion for Little League Baseball, fantasy football, and anything her grandchildren were involved in.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Bob Miller.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 35 years, Sankey C. Fields of Southport; daughter, Tiffany Cashwell Campbell, and her husband, Kevin, of Clayton; son, Chris Fields, and his wife, Barbara, of Southport; brother, Bill Miller, and his wife, Cheryl, of Southport; seven grandchildren, Tori, Cody, Kenneth, William, Cecilia, Katie and Bella; one great-grandson, Cooper; and two special nephews, Charlie Miller and Davey Miller.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 27, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church with the Rev. Anthony Clemmons officiating. Burial will follow in Northwood Cemetery. A visitation was also held from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, June 26, at Peacock-Newnam & White Funeral and Cremation Service.
