David Ray Miller, 73, retired foreman with CSX Railroad Company

David Ray Miller, 73, of Oak Island, died Thursday, June 23, 2016, at his residence. He was born in Louisville, Ky., on July 6, 1942, the son of Ray Miller and Sciota Kinser Miller.

He was a Mason, Shriner and lifetime member of the NRA. He had retired as a foreman with CSX Railroad Company. Mr. Miller served his country in the National Guard.

Surviving are his wife, Judy Wurfel Miller; son, Paul Miller of Boulder, Colo.; and sister, Dianne Pawley, and her husband, Kenny, of Louisville, Ky.

Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 29, at Brunswick Funeral Service Chapel, Southport/Oak Island. The family will receive friends at 10:30 a.m. prior to the service.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 28105.
