Patricia ‘Patsy’ Gurganus Brown, 78, of Wilmington, passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2016. She was born in Washington, D.C., on March 6, 1938, to the late Lewis and Thelma Morgan.
She was a longtime employee at Hardee’s Restaurant. She was the winner of biscuit-making contest, and her recipe changed the way Hardee’s restaurant made their biscuits nationwide.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sisters, Catherine Benton and Alma Oliphant; and brothers, Lewis and Harold Morgan.
She is survived by three brothers, Bobby, Frankie and Billy Morgan; children, Debra Knott, Teresa Bennett and Donna, Billy, Rhonda and Jimmy Gurganus; and 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 24, at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Service. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 25, with Pastor Elbert Bradhaw officiating . Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 1414 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401.
