Surrounded by family, Donna Teed, 72, went to be with Jesus on Friday, June 17, 2016, at Duke Medical Center. All who met and knew Donna quickly realized she exemplified the words, ‘Well done, my good and faithful Servant.’ Donna was born in Miami, Fla., on October 12, 1943, the daughter of the late Wilma and Dick Briggs.

Donna was the loving wife of Richard Teed for over 49 years, and their faithful marriage encouraged and blessed all who met them. Donna had a background in ballet and was a graduate of the University of Miami with a degree in physical education. She helped many in the Wilmington area recover from injury or get in better shape. She had a true love for seeing dance and exercise edify and glorify the Lord Jesus Christ. However, Donna was also an ordained minister who used her God-given talent of teaching throughout her life.

Donna is survived by her husband, Richard Teed; daughter, Cynthia Teed Dewar, and her husband, David Dewar; son, Timothy Briggs Teed, and his wife, Karen Brite Teed; four awesome grandchildren, Davis and Andrew Dewar and Gracie and Briggs Teed; and brother, Richard Briggs, and his wife, Beverly, and their children, Dawn, Brenna and Dana.

The family will receive friends and family from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 25, at Life Community Church, located in Independence Mall next to Sears, immediately followed by a memorial service at 3 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to World Mission Centre, Lower Cape Fear Hospice Foundation, or St. Jude Children’s Research Center.
