Virginia Kaye Haste, 59, passed away peacefully at Lower Cape Fear Hospice in Wilmington on June 6, 2016, surrounded by family and friends. She was born on July 31, 1956, in Macon, Ga., daughter of the late Turner Marcellus Gaughf and Annie Mae Howell Macy.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Anna Gaughf, Jean Gaughf and Susan Gaughf; brother, Ray Macy; nephew, Shaun Duke; and grandson, Wesley Bryant.
Surviving are her husband, Leslie Haste Sr.; children, Leslie Haste Jr., (Missie), Brad Haste (Stacey), Brandi Bryant (Dewayne) and Ashleigh Haste; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; sister, Jo Macy Duke, and her husband, Michael Duke, of Faceville, Ga.; brother, Patt Gaughf, and his wife, Judy Gaughf, of Monterey, Calif.; and seven nieces and nephews.
A celebration of her life will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 9, at Andrews Mortuary Hampstead Chapel with visitation immediately following until 8 p.m. The Rev. Preston Wells will officiate services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice Foundation, 1414 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC, 28401; or a charity of individual choice.
