Roberta ‘DeDe’ Conant Fryer, 68, loved the ocean and living in Oak Island

Roberta ‘DeDe’ Conant Fryer, 68, of Oak Island, passed away Sunday, May 22, 2016, at her home. Mrs. Fryer was born October 14, 1947, in Binghamton, N.Y., a daughter of the late Robert and Anne Conant.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. DeDe loved the ocean and living in Oak Island since her move to the area 15 years ago. She had a stroke in 2004, but enjoyed 12 more years with her grandchildren and family.

Mrs. Fryer leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 45 years, George Fryer; daughters, Sarah Anne Bai, and her husband, John, of Denver and Rebecca Lynn Dunn of Huntersville; two brothers, Michael Conant of Modesto, Calif., and Chris Conant of Binghamton, N.Y.; two sisters, Kathy Wells of Falmouth, Maine, and Charlotte Heil of Binghamton, N.Y.; and four grandchildren, Caleb Dunn, Addison Dunn, Kaitlin Bai and Ryan Bai.

A funeral Mass will be held at noon Friday, May 27, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Southport, with the Rev. Trent Watts officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 5269 Dosher Cutoff, Southport, NC 28461.
