Charles Herbert McKoy, 87, of Burgaw, passed away Thursday, May 19, 2016, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice of Wilmington. Mr. McKoy was born in Burgaw on April 11, 1929, to Martin L. and Mattie E. McKoy. He married Rochelle Lloyd McKoy in March 1951.

Mr. McKoy was an avid fisherman, hunter and loved gardening. He had retired from Babcox & Wilcox after 32 years’ service. Mr. McKoy also served in the U.S. Air Force in Japan.

Mr. McKoy was preceded in death by his parents and wife.

He is survived by his daughter, Deborah Cramer of Castle Hayne; two grandchildren, Sabrina Cramer and Robert M. Cramer (Heather), all of Willard; three great-grandchildren, Marcus Palmer, Hayley Cramer and Emaley Cramer, all of Willard; and several nieces and nephews.

A viewing will be held from 4 to 5 p.m. Sunday, May 22, at Andrews Mortuary & Crematory, Market Street, Wimington. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 23, at Andrews Mortuary & Crematory followed by graveside services in Greenlawn Cemetery, Shipyard Boulevard, Wilmington. Military honors will be accorded by the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard from Seymour-Johnson Air Force Base. Members of the Patriot Honor Guard will serve as pallbearers.
