Vivian Lee Ridgeway, 81, of Wilmington, went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 29, 2016. She was born in Darlington County on July 14, 1934, to the late Authur and Susie Rogers Lee.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Alton Lee and and Franklin Lee; and one sister, Jeanette Clemmons.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Roy Columbus Ridgeway; two sons, Randy Ridgeway (Jean) and Steven Ridgeway (Vickey); one daughter, Joan Blanton (James); six grandchildren, Steve (Melissa), Leif, Josie Lamb (Dannel), Justin, Nicholas and Courtney; two great-grandchildren, Brook and Logan; and one brother, Curtis Lee.

Vivian was a faithful member of Pine Valley Church of God for over 60 years. She began teaching Sunday school as a young teenager and continued for about 50 years. She also worked in the church library for a number of years.

Vivian worked in the Deli Department at Winn-Dixie for 10 years. Afterward, she opened and operated her own bakery from her home. She was also a hairdresser by profession and operated a salon from her home.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 3, at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Home. A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 4, in Oleander Memorial Gardens officiated by the Rev. Larry Horrell.

The family would like to thank all extended family members, friends and the wonderful staff of Autumn Care for their love, care and support.
