Lorraine Carper Zacharias, 84, of Leland and formerly of Broadview Heights, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2016.

She was born August 23, 1931, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late Albert and Eunice Carper. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two sisters, Elizabeth McDaniel and Jo-Ann Meyer.

She was a secretary for Louis Blue, Irving Berger, Alan Berger and Sheldon Apple over 40 years. She was an active member of the Brooklyn Heights UCC, serving on many boards, singing in the choir and playing in the bell choir. Family, friends, music and bridge were her passions. She will be missed by many.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Robert (Bob) Zacharias; sons, R. Lee Zacharias (Vicki) of Canton, Ohio and Roland Zacharias (Claudia Ross) of Alpharetta, Ga.; daughter, Laura Buda (Don) of Leland; grandchildren, Avery Duran (Ryan) of Pittsburgh, Pa., Lindsey DeSalvo (Michael) of Mahopac, N.Y., and James Buda of Charlotte; and great-grandson, Leonardo DeSalvo.

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, April 22, at Brooklyn Heights UCC, 2005 West Schaaf Road, Cleveland, Ohio. A reception will follow the services.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to be made to the Brooklyn Heights UCC, Mayflower Room Piano Fund, 2005 W. Schaaf Road, Cleveland, OH 44109.
