William Jefferson ‘Jeff’ Ray, 68, of Rocky Point, died Friday, April 15, 2016, at his residence. Born August 18, 1947, in Decatur County, Ga., he was a son of Mrs. Della Ray and the late Willie Ray.

Jeff was passionate about restoring antique cars. A self-taught prodigy at the process, he was a master in every aspect, especially upholstery. He was also active in the history and genealogy of his family; he initiated the family reunion held annually in September and was quite a Civil War buff. Jeff had a love for life, family and friends and enjoyed good conversation with them.

In addition to his mother, Della Ray, he is survived by his wife, Sue Ray; daughters, Nancy Ray and Marla Bruner (Stephen), and their children, Thomas and Morgan Bruner; stepdaughter, Kim Jones (Cody), and their children, Katie and Cole Jones; brother, Glenn Ray; and numerous extended family members.

Services will be held in Georgia at a later date.
