Alyson Tara Weinstein, 42, of Wilmington, died Thursday, April 7, 2016, surrounded by family.

Born in Freehold, N.J., and raised in Princeton, Alyson arrived in North Carolina by way of Bellingham, Wash., where she cared for her niece and nephew, obtained her associate’s degree, and applied her passion for art. She cared for so many in ways that will never be forgotten. She enjoyed caring for people, always making people comfortable around her, and in turn, was loved and cared for by many.

In Wilmington, she later showed her passion and creativity in baking and designing cakes.

Alyson is survived by her parents, Anita and Richard Weinstein of Leland; her brother, Marc Weinstein, and his wife, Elizabeth; niece, Aviva; nephew, Sylvan Weinstein of Bellingham, Wash.; sister, Jennifer Marshall, and her husband, Steven Marshall; and niece, Carly Marshall of Jacksonville.

Her life will be carried on through all her friends and family.
