Raymond Edward Roy, 89, of Carolina Shores, passed away on Wednesday, April 6, 2016, surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Roy was born on May 30, 1926, in New Hartford, Conn., the son of the late Edward Roy and Eliza Morin Roy.
Mr. Roy was employed at Superior Electric as plant manager for over 30 years. He was also a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in North Myrtle Beach. Mr. Roy was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Marine Corps.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward Roy and James Roy; and a grandson, Todd Roy.
Survivors include his loving wife of 70 years Beatrice Simard Roy; daughter, Susan Thomas, and her husband, Michael, of Bristol, Conn.; two sons Paul Roy, and his wife, Regina, also of Bristol, Conn., and Dennis Roy of Maine; brother, Paul Roy of Plainville, Conn.; sister, Marie Levasseur of Bristol, Conn.; six grandchildren, Sabrina Cormier, and her husband, Michael, of Port Jefferson, N.Y., Craig Thomas, and his wife, Helena, of Glastonbury, Conn., Scott Thomas, and his wife, Jessica, of Woodbury, Conn., Christin Roy, Dennis Roy Jr. and Casey Roy; and six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held in Bristol, Conn., at the family’s convenience.
