Edgar Allen Muncy, 86, of Southport, passed away Saturday, April 9, 2016 at his home.

Mr. Muncy was born March 21, 1930, in Hyden, Ky., son of the late Bige and Dicy Woods Muncy. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving his country during World War II.

Mr. Muncy was preceded in death by two sisters, Evelyn M. Rickey and Ann M. Price; and one brother, Billy Muncy.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Karen Muncy of the home; sons, David Allen Muncy of Dayton, Ohio, Leslie Huff of Hyden, Ky., Michael Huff of Hyden, Ky., and Ronnie Huff of Hyden, Ky.; brothers, Calvin Muncy Sr. of Southport and Robert E. Lee Muncy of Circleville, Ohio; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces of nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, April 11, in Hyden, Ky.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sonrise Baptist Church, 8375 River Road S.E., Southport, NC 28461; or SECU Hospice of Brunswick, 955 Mercy Lane, Bolivia, NC 28422.
