Joseph S. Champagne, professional engineer, 82, died peacefully at home on Saturday, April 2, 2016.
He was a proud graduate of LaSalle Institute (1951) and Rennselaer Polytechnic Institute (1955). After commissioning, he proudly served on active duty and in the reserves with the U.S. Navy. He earned master’s degrees from Yale University and RPI. Joe became a licensed professional engineer, was a world renowned traffic engineering design consultant and expert witness in accident reconstruction. It was his true passion.
Joe loved his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary K. (Marky) Liston Champagne; adored children, Joseph R. Champagne (Susan), Elizabeth M. Walsh (Christopher Maier), Mark P. Walsh (Anne), Daniel W. Champagne (Susan) and Christopher R. Walsh (Jennifer); sister, Lucy Ann Bryant (Wendell); and nine grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
