Attorney Ryan F. Tennant, 42, loyal husband, dedicated father, loving son, philosopher, boat captain, attorney and genuine friend, died on Saturday, April 2, 2016.
Ryan was born on June 7, 1973, in Columbus. He graduated from Polk County High School and North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Philosophy. Following his graduation from NCSU, he traveled extensively while embarking on a career as a respected boat captain and scuba diver in various locations around the world.
Ryan became a national forest park ranger who worked in Arizona and North Carolina. Several years later, Ryan returned to school at the Charleston School of Law. After graduation, he was employed as an attorney with Rountree and Loshee LLP, located in Wilmington. Ryan was admitted to the bar in both North Carolina and South Carolina.
He is survived by his wife, Shannon; daughter, Perry; parents, Geoffrey and Alice Tennant; and aunt, brother, sister in-law, two nieces, nephew and two cousins.
There will be no formal services. Ryan desired that his loving family and dear friends celebrate his life rather than grieve his death. The event will be in June with the date to be announced soon.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Lower Cape Fear Hospice and to all at Rountree Losee LLP for all the care and compassion shown to Ryan and his family. Also, a sincere thank you to all of Ryan’s family and friends for their love and support.
