The New Hanover golf team continued its impressive play among Mideastern Conference opponents on Monday afternoon as the Wildcats grabbed its fourth league tournament in as many tries at the Founders Club inside St. James Plantation.

Jackson Tyler grabbed top spot on the leader board for the second time this season after posting a five-over-par 77 on the Par 72, 6,347-yard layout. Teammate Brad Mickle and Xavier Williams (South Brunswick) finished one shot off the pace.

The Wildcats’ team score of 324 was 20 strokes ahead of second-place West Brunswick. Tucker Vaughan hit 82 to pace the Trojans. Samuel Young also closed with an 82 to lead Laney.

Golfers across the area will tee off again on Thursday, April 7 at the Wilmington Municipal Golf Course for the city’s annual invite.
