Thomas W. ‘Habs’ Haberland passed away on Friday, March 25, 2016, of complications from various illnesses. He was born on October 3, 1947, in Philadelphia, Pa., the son of the late George and Margaret Haberland.

Tom was a Vietnam veteran, serving in the First Cavalry Division. He had years of experience in the hospitality industry and was director of Tourism Sales for the Valley Forge Convention and Visitors Bureau before his retirement.

He was an avid Eagles, Sixers and Phillies fan, enthusiastic guitar player specializing in singer/songwriter music, avid golfer and dedicated his life to serving others.

He is survived by his loving wife, Kate; and his beloved daughter, Sarah Haberland, and grandson, Connor Russell of Bensalem, Pa.; stepson, Dr. Edmund Tori and family of Maryland; and stepdaughter, Denise Madden and family of Columbus, Ga.

A celebration of life service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, April 11, at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Home, 3915 Oleander Drive, Wilmington, NC 28403. Father Bob Kus will be officiating the service.
