Emma Greer DiBiase, 16, of Hampstead, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 27, 2016, after a long battle with alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma. Emma was born on August 2, 1999, in Tacoma, Wash., to her parents, Samantha and Gregory.

Emma touched countless lives near and far with her smile, quick-wit, positivity and big personality. She was an original from the start, and never wavered from being that most authentic person. Always the performer, Emma could do spot-on impersonations of those close to her at a young age. In her teens, Emma became a social media star and had an immeasurable impact on those touched by her. Emma loved music, going to shows and dancing, which culminated in her fronting the band Mesto and performing live in January 2016.

Emma is survived by her mother, Samantha McKenzie; father, Gregory DiBiase; stepfather, Thomas Potts; stepmother, Dara DiBiase; siblings, Madeleine and Spencer DiBiase and Andrew and Hunter Potts; and her maternal grandparents, Katherine Young and Charles McKenzie, and paternal grandparents, Joseph DiBiase and Joan DiBiase. Emma is adored by her many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

To honor Emma’s life, a viewing will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 31, at Andrews Hampstead Chapel, 17730 U.S. Hwy 17 North, Hampstead. A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 1, at All Saints Catholic Church, 18737 U.S. Hwy 17 North, Hampstead, with a reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Children’s Cancer Research Fund, or Lower Cape Fear Hospice.
