Zach Johnson had three hits and three runs batted in to lead West Brunswick in an 11-4 win against South Brunswick. Tyler McDuffie added three hits in the victory, while Jonathan Carlyle struck out eight in five innings of work.

Topsail defeated Northside 3-1 in Jacksonville on Tuesday.

Carmen Pyrtle tallied twice and Lexi Gilley added one goal and one assist. Hayley Childress had 6 saves for the Pirates as Topsail moved to 5-3-1 overall.

Lejeune 4     Cape Fear Academy 2

Cape Fear Academy tied the game at two early in the second half, but Lejeune tallied twice more late in the match to hand the Hurricanes a 4-2 defeat on Tuesday.

Carter Broderick and Libby Moore each scored for Cape Fear Academy. Anna White and Annie Kane had one assist apiece, while Delany Mitchell made six saves.

West Brunswick pounded 13 hits in the game as the Trojans grabbed a 3-1 win over South Brunswick on Tuesday.

Savannah Branch went 4-for-4 with 2 RBI’s and two doubles for West Brunswick. Myah Morse tossed a one hitter and finished with eight strikeouts.

The Trojans moved to 3-2 in the division and 4-4 overall. West Brunswick plays at Topsail on Friday.

Ashley 8     Freedom Christian 4

Jess Stergakos hit a two-run home run and Madison Berry capped the comeback with a three-run shot in the bottom of the sixth as Ashley grabbed an 8-4 victory over Freedom Christian.

Trailing 4-2, Jordyn Baker hit a one-out triple to bring home Breanna Posey as the Screaming Eagles cut the deficit to one. Stergakos smacked a two-run single in the sixth to give Ashley its first lead, setting the stage for Berry’s first long ball of the season.
