Steven Linkous keyed the offensive attack atop the lineup with three hits and his 15th stolen base of the season. Gavin Stupienski, Nick Feight, Casey Golden and Robbie Thorburn  each had two hits on the game.  Stupienski, Feight, Golden, Brian Mims and Daniel Stack all delivered round trippers.

UNCW sent 11 hitters to the plate in a six-run first inning to take a 6-0 lead. Mims and Feight connected on two-run homers to stake the Seahawks to a four-run advantage just four batters into the game.

Alex Royalty (4-1) picked up the win working five innings and striking out five. Reliever Austin Easter held the Gaels to one hit over three innings out of the bullpen to lower his earned run average to 1.26.

The Seahawks finished with five two-out hits and RBI’s. Royalty allowed just two hits with runners on base and induced eight ground ball outs. The top five hitters in the UNCW lineup combined to go 10-for-19 with seven runs scored and eight runs batted in.

UNCW ran its record to 11-6 overall and 11-2 at Brooks Field with its second straight victory. The Gaels, who had a three-game winning streak snapped yesterday, dropped their second-in-a-row and dipped to 4-11.
