Jacques W.F. ‘Bill’ Allen died on Thursday, March 17, 2016, after a long illness.

Bill was born in Long Branch, N.J., and lived in Wall and Westfield, N.J., until 1996, when he and his wife moved to Wilmington. He attended Dartmouth College and received his B.A. in 1952 from Florida State University. He was a lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force. He received an MBA and a M.A. in psychology from Rutgers University.

He retired from Exxon Co. USA as a senior marketing representative in 1992 and from Fiske Brothers Refining Co., Newark, N.J., as a marketing director in 1996.

Bill is survived by his wife, Margaret (Peggy) W. Allen; daughters, Kathleen, and her husband, Todd Hamrick, of Raleigh and Christine, and her husband, Michael Flanagan, of Scotch Plains, N.J; and grandchildren Liam Peter, Savannah Grace and Sydney Elizabeth, of Raleigh.

In lieu of services, Bill’s request was that you make sure to tell the people who are a major part of your life that you love them each and every day.
