Topsail 7   Pender 2

Victoria Elder struck out 11 over five innings and Alyssa Randall finished with three hits to lead Topsail past Pender 7-2 on Monday.

The Pirates scored a pair of runs in each of the first three innings to grab a 6-1 lead. Randall, Maddy Laster and Hayley Grizzle had two RBI’s apiece. Grizzle also fanned four in two innings of relief.

Soccer

Topsail 3    Cape Fear Academy 2

Topsail jumped out to a three goal lead in the first half and held off Cape Fear Academy over the final 40 minutes to grab a 3-2 result on Monday.

Carmen Pyrtle, Lexi Gilley, and Jamie Keisman found the back of the net for the 4-1 Pirates.  Gilley, Carsyn Malpass, and Elizabeth Canfield had an assist and Hayley Childress had six saves in goal.

Libby Moore tallied twice for the Hurricanes, while Anna White picked up an assist. Delaney Mitchell made seven saves for Cape Fear Academy.
