Daniel Alexander Kirk, our darling young one, passed away at home on Saturday, March 12, 2016.
Daniel leaves behind his parents, Dan and Shelley; sister, Rachel; and many special aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who loved his tender heart and whom he loved most dearly.
Daniel grew up on the waterway; his favorite place. He also spent many years with the Boy Scouts of America, reaching life rank and membership in the Order of the Arrow. He worked several years as a lineman and was currently a second-year student in Cape Fear Community College’s Marine Technology Program.
Daniel was happiest outside. He enjoyed exploring the mountains, but he mostly loved being on the waterway, especially watching life below the surface. Daniel was a skilled fisherman and shell seeker. He had a great love of reading and learning. When he wasn’t outside, he had an open book. No one loved peanut butter more than Daniel.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 17, at Andrews Hampstead Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial donation to the Ocean Conservancy in Daniel’s honor.
