Cheryl Denise Frederick Baker, 55, beloved wife of Donald W. Baker, of Castle Hayne, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 9, 2016, surrounded by her family. She fought a long, courageous battle with cancer, defiant and determined not to give up.

Cheryl’s love for the Lord and family defined her. She was devoted to her husband, children and grand-babies, who were so precious to her. She exuded love and lived her life serving others. She epitomized the true meaning of the word ‘genuine,’ and immeasurably blessed the lives of all who knew her. Although her life on earth may have ended, her legacy lives on through the love and memories she leaves behind.

Along with her husband, Donald, Cheryl is survived by her children, Roseann Beastrom, Amanda Baker, Roxanne Grizzard and Dana Cathcart; her siblings, Helen Odum, and her husband, Wayne, Clarence ‘Buzzy’ Frederick, David Frederick, Jeff Ozmen, and his wife, Lauren, and Sheila Winters, and her husband, Jeff; grandchildren, Dana Cathcart, Jeremy Cathcart, Johnny Ray Grizzard, Brianna Grizzard, Blake Beastrom, Miles Brewer and Willow Brewer; her nieces and nephews, Carrie Willis, Brittany Odum, Crystal Bobbitt, Melanie Strait, Jeff Odum, Dennis Odum, Jason Frederick and Colt Ozmen. Cheryl also leaves behind a very special friend, Kay Seeger. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arlene ‘Pat’ Echols and Clarence R. Frederick.

Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 12, at the Wrightsboro Baptist Church. Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. with Pastor Brad Harrison officiating.
