Mildred Doris Bordeaux, 94, died Friday, March 4, 2016, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice. Doris was born October 7, 1921, in Wilmington to the late Franklin and Minnie Russ.
She was a loving mother, sister and aunt. She was a devout Christian and loved helping others.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Lloyd Bordeaux; sisters, Lee Shaw, Marie Grey, Bernice Morrill and Margie Iris Russ; and brothers, Bruce, Benny, Robert, Earl and Allen Russ.
Doris is survived by her son, Ray Bordeaux of Charlotte; daughter, Sheila Bordeaux Jack, and husband, Lynn, of Wilmington; granddaughter, Lesa Bordeaux McPherson, and husband, Scott, of Savannah, Tenn.; grandson, Trey Roy of Knoxville, Tenn.; great-granddaughters, Melissa and Allyson McPherson of Tennessee; great-great-granddaughter, Brooklyn McPherson of Tennessee; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, March 7, at Andrews Market Street Chapel. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service at 1 p.m. Burial will follow in Leland Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family would like to express great appreciation to Woodbury Wellness and the Lower Cape Fear Hospice for the care they provided their mother.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Lower Cape Fear Hospice in memory of Doris Bordeaux.
