Tommy Houston Johnson, age 78, of Shallotte Point, passed away on Tuesday, March 1, 2016, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Murray, Ky., on June 12, 1944, the son of the late Harley Houston Johnson and Rosine Iris Steele Johnson and was preceded in death by a brother, Darrel Johnson.
Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Brenda D. Johnson of the home; a son, Billy Johnson, and his wife, Deanna, of Shallotte Point; a sister, Suzette Vaughn, and her husband, Jack, of Murray, Ky.; two grandchildren, Austin Johnson, and his wife, Nicole, of Supply and Zack Johnson of Shallotte Point; one great-grandson, Rifton Johnson.
Funeral services were held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, March 3, at White Funeral and Cremation Service, Shallotte Chapel, with the Rev. Eddie Hill officiating. Interment followed in Brunswick Memorial Gardens. The family received family and friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at their residence. Pallbearers were Austin Johnson, Zack Johnson, Pat Piscitelle, Conrad Bulak, William McRainey, Duane Lisk, Tom Powell and Mike Janko. Honorary pallbearers were Richard Britt, Ron Herring and Fred Kart.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to SECU Hospice House of Brunswick, 955 Mercy Lane, Bolivia, NC 28422.
