Frederick ‘Freddie’ Gordon Heath Sr., 76, of Castle Hayne, died Monday, February 29, 2016, at his home.

He was born on April 17, 1939, in Pender County, the son of the late Fred and Gertrude Crews Heath. Also remembered are his first wife, Barbara Ann Heath; a son, Frederick G. Heath Jr.; and four brothers and three sisters, all of whom preceded him in death.

Freddie retired from G.E. after 30 years. As an electrician, he always enjoyed helping his friends with any of their electrical projects. Freddie was also enjoyed duck and deer hunting with his special canine companion, ‘Dolly.’

Surviving is his wife of 30 years, Judith Basinger Heath; a daughter, Donna Heath Fink, and husband, Jeff; three stepdaughters, Mandy Furr, and husband, Jimmy, Bonnie Janke, and Marla Wardrip, and husband, Stanley; five grandchildren, Trent Furr, Carleigh Janke, Kenly Fink, Andrew Wardrip and Claire Janke.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 3, at Andrews Mortuary Market Chapel. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, March 4, at Andrews Market Chapel. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
