Alberto Antonio Balp, age 63, of Wilmington passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2016. He was born February 26, 1952, in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, to the late Alberto Balp and Marie Lambert Balp. Alberto had retired as a professional architect and draftsman and was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Vera Balp; son, Capt. Jose Balp, and his wife, Jacquie, of Atlanta, Ga.; granddaughters, Isabelle and Evelyn Balp; brothers, Andres Balp of Houston, Texas, and Miguel Balp of San Antonio, Tezas; sisters, Joanne Balp of San Antonio, Texas, Susana Balp of Guadalajara, Mexico, and Patricia Balp, and her husband, Miguel Puig, of Mexico; and various nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Moises Balp.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated 9 a.m. Wednesday, February 24, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
