University of Mount Olive guard Felicity Havens has been named the Conference Carolinas Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for games played from Feb. 8-14, the conference announced Monday.
Havens, a sophomore from Wilmington, led Mount Olive to a 3-0 week after averaging 18.7 points and 7.3 rebounds.
She saw limited minutes in an 83-57 win over Lees-McRae, but was efficient from the field, shooting 3-for-4 from the field, including 1 of 2 from three-point range, for seven points and four rebounds.
In a 78-58 win over Southern Wesleyan, Havens poured in 25 points and pulled down seven rebounds. She closed the three-game stretch against Erskine with a double-double, 24 points and 11 rebounds to help the Trojans to a 71-55 win.
In 18 games played in her first season at Mount Olive, Havens averages 9.8 points per game, while shooting 41.8 percent from the field and 35.6 percent from beyond the arc.
Mount Olive has won four straight games to improve to 14-10 overall and 12-6 in Conference Carolinas. The Trojans are currently fourth in league standings and 7-3 over their last 10 games.
