John T. EdwardsJohn Thomas Edwards, known to family and friends as “Pa” and “ill machinist,” passed away Thursday, February 11, 2016.

He was born in Princeton, on October 8, 1946. His parents were William Rains Edwards and Cora Lee Radford Edwards.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Betty “Judy” Edwards; son, William Thomas Edwards (Cindy); daughter, Betty Edwards Norris; grandsons, John Michael Norris, Austin Cory Edwards, Dylan Ray Edwards and Brandon Noah Edwards; sisters, Mary Helen Capps (Leon), and Linda Edwards Thompson (Denny); and sister-in-law, Diana Edwards.

He was preceded in death by his brother, William Ray Edwards.

John was a proud veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the U.S. Army and a member of the VFW Post 2573. He owned and operated Edwards Auto Machine for over 25 years. He enjoyed auto racing. He was dedicated to his family, friends and was an adopted father to many.

The family will see friends from 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, February 14, at Wilmington Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, February 15, at Wilmington Funeral Chapel with burial to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
