Jason Alexander Bradford, 28, of Center Point, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2016 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center after a lifelong battle with Muscular Dystrophy.

Jason was born in Center Point, Iowa on Feb. 5, 1987, the son of James G. Bradford and Shirley M. Niedermann.

Together with his parents, Jason is survived by his aunt Marilyn Carstensen, aunt Eunice and uncle Tom Jacobsen, aunt Sandy and uncle Jerry Schweer, uncle Eldon Niedermann; cousins John Carstensen, Pam and Gene Eilander, Kristy and Kris Schweer, and Sherry and Todd Greer; and six second cousins.

He was predeceased by his grandparents Gilbert and Bernadine Niedermann and his uncle Floyd Carstensen.

Jason was an accomplished poet, a writer and a teacher at UNC-Wilmington, where he was pursuing a second master’s degree, an MFA in creative writing.

A service to celebrate Jason’s life will be held at 5 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 22 at Wilmington Funeral and Cremation, 1535 S. 41st St., Wilmington, NC 28403.
