John Warren George Noggle II, 63, sci-fi fan, musician and motorcycle enthusiast

John Warren George Noggle II, 63, of Wilmington and formerly of Asheville passed away Friday, Jan. 8, 2016 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

Born Sept. 19, 1952 in Lake Charles, Louisiana, he was the son of the late John Warren George Noggle I and Julia Elizabeth Daniel Noggle. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Julie Ann Noggle Koski and Anita Kay Noggle Powell.

From 1971 to 1977, he served in the Nuclear Navy as an electronics engineer aboard the USS South Carolina.

John was a resident of Asheville for 25 years prior to living in Wilmington. He was in a ham radio club and was an avid electronics and computer hobbyist. He recently retired as a computer technician. He had a love for reading sci-fi and playing saxophone and piano. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle in his leisure.

He is survived by his brother, James Noggle (Mimi) of West Chester, Pennsylvania; a nephew, Benjamin Noggle of San Francisco, California; a niece, Joni Noggle of Phoenix, Arizona; and an uncle, William Daniel (Patricia) of Heber Springs, Arkansas.

Services will be private.
